I am taking entirely too long to read assigned reading in college. I would like to use a speed reading program or something to help me speed up my reading. Any suggestions? Do they really work?

Any students, attorneys, or others who are required to read large amounts of material have any advice to give on this subject? I’m looking to improve my speed reading but really don’t want to have to spend $100 or more on programs to improve it.

Any ideas?

The speed reading programs that I am talking about is Eye Q, Speed Read and Ace Reader. Which reading program do you think is the better product . I know Eye Q probably doesn’t have RSVP technology incorporated in it.

Someone recommended for speed reading, the “Evelyn Wood speed reading course”.
Any ideas you can share? Has a particular program done wonders for you?
thanks much!

I’m trying to improve my reading speed and am looking for a speed reading course that can be done online or through reading software. Any suggestions?

My reading score on the ACT and critical reading score on the SAT suffer because of my reading speed. What are some ways I can improve my reading speed? Also, on these standard tests, what are your methods of answering? Do you read the questions first or read the passages first or etc.?
I end up having to blind guess about 10 questions on the ACT every time.

What are some test taking strategies or techniques I can use on the SAT, notably on the Critical Reading section? I’ve heard about speed reading, but if I speed read then I’ll most likely skip over the important information (which means I’ll have to reread some parts of the passage). Any other test taking techniques? I also tend to freak out about the time, and running out of time…pacing in general.
this is my last chance with the SAT. I’ve already gone through The Princeton review text book (11 practice tests and the one with methods and 3 practice tests) and the College Board one.
